Sarajevo in 50 ultimate travel experiences
In last edition of Guardian Travel, in collection of articles and notes titled “50 ultimate travel experiences” where various travel writers and tour operators remember their favourite travel moments, Sarajevo was chosen by Benji Lanyado, travel writer for the Guardian, as his favorite travel experience. This is an excerpt:
City tour, Sarajevo, Bosnia : A few years ago, while travelling through the Balkans, I met a man called Muammar, a punk rocker with hair down to his waist, in a bar in Sarajevo. We got chatting about his name (he was named after colonel Gadafy) and very drunk on rakia, and he promised to show me around the city the next day.
